This junction was to have been the northern terminus of a State Route extending southwards to Albany via Lake Grace, however this route was never signed. For those looking to travel from Kalgoorlie-Boulder to Esperance, a 10-hour detour west to Merredin then down through Hyden, Lake King and Ravensthorpe to reach the South Coast Highway was the quickest option.
